MOVING ON: Davidson in action against Vale of Clyde last month.

By Alistair Neil

TALBOT have been rocked by the news key midfielder Stuart Davidson wants a move away from Beechwood.

Davidson sensationally handed in a transfer request at the weekend - a decision which flabbergasted boss Tommy Sloan.

The former Kilmarnock star has grown increasingly frustrated at his lack of first team action this season and has demanded an exit from the Premier Division outfit in order to secure regular football.

The timing of the move has left Sloan extremely frustrated, but the gaffer says he will not stand in the way of a player wanting a move away.

Sloan said: "I would rather Stuart waited to the end of the season to make this decision but he's adamant he wants to see what happens now.

"He's been an excellent player for us and is still an excellent player so obviously I would rather that he stayed.

"Stuart's been used to playing and this season he's not been as regular as he has in the past. At this point in his career he's wanting to be playing every week and the club's just got to accept that."
