HANDY ANDY: Ferguson in action during his time at Alloa.

By Alistair Neil

GLENAFTON have snapped up ex-Ayr United hitman Andy Ferguson.

The 24-year-old forward lined up in Saturday's friendly against Arthurlie at Greenwood Academy, Dreghorn and linked well with strike partner Gareth Armstrong.

Ferguson scored 11 goals in 55 appearances at Somerset Park and has also had spells at Dundee, Clyde and Alloa.

He is expected to give the Loch Park outfit extra fire-power up front as they look to get back to winning ways in the league.

With the weekend's First Division clash at Neilston Juniors falling victim to the weather, Mark Shanks' men were given a run out at Greenwood's all weather surface.

A first-half double from Armstrong helped Glens grab a 2-2 draw against their Premier Division opponents, a result which stands them in good stead for this weekend's visit of Clydebank.
