TALBOT have top get over the disappointment of their Scottish Cup draw to put the tie to bed on Saturday.

That's according to Talbot gaffer Tommy Sloan.

Sloan's Beechwood boys travelled to the south side of Glasgow to take on Pollok in the third round of the Scottish Cup.

Talbot lead through a Graham Wilson strike before Pollok bounced back through Liam Rowan.

Talbot had a glorious chance to wrap up the tie from the penalty spot in 87 minutes but goal hero Wilson stepped up and blasted his spot kick over the target.

Talbot boss says his troops must now put the disappointment behind them ahead of Saturday's replay.

Speaking to the Chronicle Sloan said: "I was disappointed not to be through after the game but it's by with now and we just have to go again on Saturday and try to get through.

"I thought we were the better team on Saturday and we passed up a few chances to score again.

"I thought a 1-0 lead was the very least we deserved at that point but we then made the mistake of sitting too deep and allowing a very good side like Pollok to have too much time and room on the ball.

“Conceding a goal with minutes to go is always disappointing but coming away with a draw is not the worst result because Pollok are a good side.

"It's by with now. We can't keep thinking about Saturday's game. We move on and focus now on the replay."

Sloan added: "Graham has scored the goal for us so when we get the penalty he was feeling confident and it's just one of these things where he's missed it. These things happen in football. I'm just glad we are still in the cup."

Sloan's side entered a cauldron at Newlandsfield as a bumper 1,200 crowd turned out to watch the match between the two junior giants.

Sloan added: "It was great atmosphere and it was a really good game of football as well. Pollok are a big club and it was always going to be a big game and I just felt we played some good stuff. The improvement in us is there to be seen. I was happy with the performance even though we weren't able to get that second goal.

"Hopefully we get a good crowd and atmosphere on Saturday and we can get through to the next round."

Sloan looks set to be without James Latta once again who continues to struggle with a shoulder injury. Dwayne Hyslop and Craig McCracken could be in line fo0r a return to action following injury.

Saturday's replay will be played to a finish with the game going straight to penalty kicks if it's a draw after 90 minutes. The kick off is at 1.45pm.

Elsewhere in cup action Glenafton's trip to Dundee Violet was called off early on Saturday morning due to a frozen pitch. The New Cumnock side will head back to Dundee on Saturday with a 1.45pm kick off.
