KELLO Rovers are on the lookout for a new gaffer.

The Kirkconnel outfit have been forced to try and lure a new man in to the Nithside Park hot seat following the resignation of Gary Wilson.

Rovers finished sixth in this season Ayrshire District League, but Wilson has opted not to return next season due to family and work commitments.

Kello Rovers president, Mark Keggans said: “The club is deeply disappointed to be losing Gary as he has been a terrific manager. However, we will need to crack on and appoint Gary’s replacement as soon as we can.

"The club has a lot to offer any prospective manager of the Rovers. We had a really good season last season and achieved this with a good spine of local players throughout the team. We also have a vibrant committee and a brand new playing surface which is eliciting kind comments from visitors. Indeed, we always believe that we have one of the best wee grounds in Junior football and a good home support.”

The club are now looking for applications for the vacant managers post. Anyone is interested in the post can contact Mark Keggans on 01659 66632 or 07846101474 or you can email gillian.keggans@btinternet.com.

Rovers recently held their end of season awards evening at the Kelloholm Arms. The big winners were Bob Hampson (top scorer), Martin Shaw (Players’ Player of the Year), Liam Weir (Manager’s Player of the Year), Steven Hyslop (Supporters’ Player of the Year), Ryan Dunsmuir and Sean Bennie (Joint Winners of the Committee’s Player of the Year).
