PROGRESS is being made by Lugar Boswell Thistle, despite the club narrowly missing out on the promotion play-offs.

That was the message from manager Lauchlan Millar, following the 2-1 defeat against Irvine Victoria, which won their opponents a place in next season’s Championship.

He said after the game: “We will take positives from the Vics game and not many teams would come here, play like us and come away with nothing.

“I felt we deserved something from the game, at least a draw but that has been the story of the season.

“Things are going very well on and off the park, we are definitely going in the right direction.

“Already seven of the squad have signed up for next year and I’m expecting all, it not most to sign.

I am looking for some experienced players like Irvine Vics and Dalry have.”

Added the boss: “We will find ourselves in League One next season and I hope to mount a serious challenge because the boys will go from strength to strength.

“They can take credit out of the performances against two of the teams coming up, Craigmark last Wednesday and today against Vics.

“It took Dalry four seasons to get where they are. We are going in the right direction, the young players have a great attitude and I hope to do it quicker.”
