MAUCHLINE’S Adam Hall is targeting a place at Gold Coast 2018 after securing the men’s doubles title at the Turkish International.

Alongside partner Alex Dunn, the duo secured the final in straight games, beating Danish pair Mikkel Stoffersen and Mathias Thyrri 21-14 21-9 at the Ankara Olympic Center.

Hall admitted the focus has now shifted onto securing Commonwealth Games qualification – but not before the pair put their feet up after ending the year on such a high note.

“We are very satisfied with the victory,” said Hall. “It’s really completed a rollercoaster couple of weeks for us, going from win to first round loss to a win again.

“We are now really just targeting a couple of weeks’ rest .

“After Christmas, we are just looking to secure our qualification for the Commonwealth Games then try and start winning some higher-level tournaments.”

The Turkish International was the Scottish pair’s second title this month after they took home the men’s doubles trophy at the Irish Open.

Hall and Dunn put in a classy performance as they powered home without looking troubled.

After taking the first game 21-14, the duo upped their dominance even further as they sensed victory and went through the gears, easing home 21-9 in the second to claim the championship.

The pair were a powerful force throughout the tournament, which they won without dropping a game.
