CRAIGMARK Burntonians manager Ian Patterson insists he is only focussed on this weekend's game against Ardeer Thistle despite their excellent start to the season.
'Mark sit five points clear at the top of the Ayrshire District League and have a game in hand over nearest rivals Maybole. The Dalmellington side have won seven of their eight league games this season and are hoping to keep that run going if the pitch at Station Park can beat the weather.
Patterson's side have already beaten Ardeer this season after a 4-1 win in North Ayrshire on September but the gaffer felt it was a tougher game than the scoreline suggested.
He said: "The last time we played Ardeer it was a tough tie and I don't think the score was a fair reflection on the game.
"When you look at who they've played, it's teams that are at the top of the league so their.
"I don't know [if it will go ahead], it depends on the weather. It's that time of year.
"We have no plans in place for a friendly at the moment. We played Girvan in a bounce game on Monday night and lost 4-1 but we played five trialists.
"A couple of them impressed, a couple of young boys and we will be looking to bring them in.
"I think, for a club like us, four years ago, there are 64 teams in the West region and we were 64th.
"Folk will laugh, but we just want to be in the league above the bottom so we set a target of seventh or above this season.
