AUCHINLECK Talbot manager Tommy Sloan has praised Steven White following the midfielder's testimonial at the weekend.
Talbot drew 1-1 with a Kilmarnock XI at Beechwood Park 10 years after White first joined the club in 2006.
White has been part of one of the most successful sides in junior football picking up four Junior Cup winners medals and four Super League Premier Division titles.
Sloan told the Chronicle: "It was great to recognise Steven's 10 years at the club. He has been a great servant to Auchinleck Talbot and he proved in the game that he's still a useful player.
"It was a good day and I thought we did well in the first half. We were on top for long periods and created some good chances."
Talbot have also signed defender Gareth Armstrong this weekend. The former Troon defender made his debut in White's testimonial and Sloan added: "Gareth is a player I have liked for a few years and I have finally got him so I am delighted with that.
"He is very versatile and can play in various positions. He was a full back at Troon and he played well there at the weekend. He isn't at full fitness yet but time will tell."
