KELLO Rovers hammered table toppers Ardrossan Winton Rovers and boss Ross Wilson reckons that's a sign to other teams who have shown his side 'utter contempt'.

Rovers smashed SIX past a shell shocked Winton Rovers on Saturday at Nithside Park to narrow the gap at the top.

The young Rovers gaffer was delighted with his sides emphatic win, but says that other Ayrshire District sides have got his back up this term.

Speaking to the Chronicle, Wilson said: "The disappointing thing for me is people think that Ardrossan were poor and they don't want to give us the credit for playing well. We deserved it. We out played them across the park and it could have been 8 or 9.

"The Ardrossan website was talking about poor defending on their part, not how well we played.

"I think the likes of Ardrossan and Darvel have treated us with utter contempt this season.

"I'm not talking about coaches. I'm talking about players, committee men and fans.

"Maybe Saturday has been a wee bit of a wake up call.

"It's got my back up a wee bit, the way certain other clubs have treated us this season.

"My over riding feeling is that my players absolutely deserved the win. The score line is irrelevant, my boys put in the performance that earned the win.

"You see Kello 6 Ardrossan 0 and nobody see a true reflection of the game. They just automatically assume that Winton had a poor game.

"I'm fed up with the contempt we have been shown.

"The league flag has been on three different flag poles this season.

"Nobody wants to give us any credit. We're just wee Kello Rovers. Darvel's fans think they are going to win all of their games to win the league."

The Rovers boss also adds in Whitletts Vics among the teams to look upon his side with disdain.

The thumping weekend win leaves Wilson's side in third, six points behind Winton with two games in hand over them.

But Wilson isn't eyeing up a title bid just yet.

He added :"We just take one game at a time. All I really wanted to do was finish with one point more than we did last season. That would be a good year for us. Now, we just try and get to 35 points and then we will see where we go from there.

"Winton have the points on the board and it's theirs to lose now, but we just have to keep plugging away and winning our own games.

"We have been winning games even when we haven't played will this year. We haven't had our good spell yet and I think there's more to come."

League sponsors, McBookie.com have Kello Rovers at 6/1 t win the league, with favourites Darvel at 11/8, Whitletts at 2/1 and Ardrossan at 9/2.

Kello are at home this weekend to Saltcoats Vics with a 2pm kick off at Nithside Park in a vital league encounter
