IT was yet another wash out for Glens on Sarturday as they suffered their second late call off in just three weeks.

The Loch Park side were set to take on Arthurlie at Dunterlie Park when the referee cancelled the fixture with just fifteen minutes to kick off.

The cancellation comes just three weeks after Glens Scottish Cup tie with East Kilbride Thistle was called off at the eleventh hour.

Glens secretary, John Stewart said: "We had two buses up their plus all the supporters who made their own way. It's unbelievable."

Glens boss Craig McEwan said: "It's happened twice in three weeks but we're not going to moan about it.

"We live in a country where the weather plays a part in our football. It's just one of those things.

"From my time there (at Arthurie) I know how hard their groundstaff work and it's not a slight on them."

The Glens boss instead went to take in Troon's league defeat to Hurlford ahead of their West of Scotland Cup tie this weekend.

McEwan is now mindful of mixing his team as they enter a busy fixture list. He said: "We need to shuffle the pack a wee bit and mix things up so we will have to rely on the full squad to play their part on the run in.

"Fingers crossed that the game against Troon on Saturday goes ahead. It's not ideal to have a fixture backlog at this time of the season."

Glenafton host Troon at Loch Park in the West of Scotland Cup on Saturday with a 2pm kick off.
