CUMNOCK boss John McKeown was stumped when his side were held to a draw after having a penalty claim rejected.

The Nock gaffer was delighted with his sides showing but reckons they should have been given a spot kick.

Speaking after the game, the Townhead gaffer said: "I thought for the first forty five minutes we were brilliant and should have been more than one goal ahead but Hurlford improved in the second half but we still had the chances to kill the game off.

"We should have had a penalty just before their equaliser when Paul Burns was pulled down and this decision baffled me and it cost us as they went up the pitch to equalise and it just shows how you can get punished for not killing games off.

"We dropped too deep which means we now have a massive game next week at Kilbirnie. There were plenty positives today but dropping deep when Hurlford changed their shape gave us things to work on although Sean McKenzie still held the line really well but overall that was two dropped points today".
