AUCHINLECK Talbot boss Tommy Sloan needs more from his side if they are to progress in the Scottish Cup.

That was the message from the Beechwood gaffer after his side uncharacteristically threw away the lead twice to draw away from home with BSC Glasgow on Saturday.

Talbot were the red hot favourites to seal a place in the next round, but BSC proved to be no pushovers.

Now Sloan says his side can’t afford to give away sloppy goals in the replay at Beechwood on Saturday.

Sloan said: “It’s a bit disappointing. We wanted to go through at the first attempt, but it hasn’t worked out that way. It’s another game we can add to the fixtures that we really didn’t want. But at the end of the day we didn’t do enough to go through to the next round and we have to play them again.

“They have got some very useful players who have played senior before and Aaron Connolly who was at Glenafton so they are a good side.” Sloan added: “We lost disappointing goals and that’s not like us. I’m looking for a wee bit more on Saturday. They pose a threat to us and I’m looking for a bit extra.

“It was a disappointing result for us and it gives us an extra game to play but on the other hand we are still in the cup, which it’s all about.” Sloan’s side host BSC Glasgow at Beechwood Park on Saturday with a 3pm kick off.
