TALBOT have moved quickly to build on their double winning squad with two new additions this week.

Beechwood boss Tommy Sloan has bolstered his squad after capturing striker Robert Love from bitter rivals Cumnock.

He also secured versatile playmaker, Stevie Wilson. Wilson is the brother of current Talbot star Graham Wilson and has made the move from Troon.

Sloan was dealt a blow last week when hitman David Gormley opted to make the move to League Two outfit, Clyde, whilst local lad Ally Park made a switch to Loch Park as he penned a deal with Glenafton. Club stalwart Colin Spence also bowed out of Beechwood after agreeing to a move to Troon.

Speaking of the clubs transfer business this week, Sloan said: “Robert is a player I have always liked. We tried to bring him to Talbot before he moved to Cumnock but we were too late. Then last season when it looked like Gormley was going to Clyde in January, we looked at potential targets and Robert was one of them.

“He’s a busy player and I was very keen to get him so I am delighted.” On the signing of Wilson, Sloan said: “Stevie plays in various positions, which I like. He’s very versatile and he’s still a young player so he’s still got a bit of improvement to do. We’re looking for him to come in and add something different and improve as a player and we believe he can, he just freshens things up a bit.

“Obviously Graham enjoys things here and he’s alwasy happy to sign a new deal with us. I don’t know if he has played a part in Stevie agreeing to come , I’d like to think that the prospect of playing with better players had something to do with it but again we are delighted to have him.” Of Spence’s departure the Talbot boss said: “Colin came to me during the season and rightly he wasn’t happy at the amount of game time he was getting so he has decided to move on. I’d have liked to have kept him here but he goes to Troon with our best wishes.”
