Ayr Roads CC/Harry Fairbairn BMW was represented by Gary Maher on Wednesday evening at Part 2 of the West of Scotland Cycling Association Road Race Series. The riders undertook 2 laps of the Stewarton circuit on a bright and warm night. A few breaks were attempted but no one managed to keep away from the chasing peleton. With no breakaways sticking, the race ended with a mass sprint on an uphill finish towards Whitelee Windfarm. Gary once again finished very strongly continuing recent good form to claim a magnificent runner's up spot.

The club confined 10 TT continued on Thursday evening at Loans with Kenny Armstrong clocking the fastest time of the night in 21:48. Michael Robb was second with 22:12. Other times: Robert Kelly 22:58, Alex McAllister 23:15, Grant Young 23:37, Jody Gerrard 24:22, Toni McIntosh (F) 24:28, Duncan McArthur 28:08 and Alison Muir (F) 31:20.

Alex McAllister, Brian Nicol, Robert Kelly and Toni McIntosh from the Roads competed in the Ian Walls Memorial 10 TT on Saturday which was held on the West Ferry course at Bishopton, Renfrewshire. Despite having the appearance of a warm sunny morning, a rising westerly breeze dashed hopes of super fast times. Indeed, from a very strong field only 4 riders clocked a time under 21 minutes. Toni finished 3rd fastest female in 25:04 and Alex claimed the top time in the over 50's category with 23:11. Brian and Robert both finished in the same time of 23:30. The overall winner of the race was Silas Goldsworthy of Sandy Wallace Cycles in 20:32.

11 riders set off from Ayr on a gloriously sunny Sunday morning the social club ride. The group set off down the coast towards Turnberry and over the hill to Penkill Castle before turning left and climbing up to the windfarm before descending the Screws into Barr. The return was via the valley before undertaking the ascent of Hadyard Hill and coming in through Crosshill, Minishant and Culroy.
