Former Rangers star Bob Malcolm has revealed the real reason he is working on an Ice Cream van in Glasgow's east end- he is 'helping out a family member'.

The 36-year-old is apparently doing a roaring trade as he drives around in his Spiderman-clad van to the tune of Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head.

Glasgow Times:

He said: "It’s a great laugh meeting new people, Spiderman is Barlanark's 4th emergency service."

The ex-midfielder was snapped by a national newspaper dishing out 99s to hungry punters in the east end, but Malcolm hit back on social media with a hilarious response.

Glasgow Times:

He tweeted: "I’m helping a family member out keeping his business going is that a crime?

"I also cut my mum and aunt's hedges and grass now and again if you want to come do a story on that as well."

Glasgow Times:

He added: "But if there is anyone looking for a Spiderman ice-cream van for party’s don’t hesitate to contact me."

Malcolm signed for Rangers in 1997 and left for Derby County in 2006.

He retired from playing in 2012 before joining Barry Ferguson as part of the coaching staff at Blackpool and Clyde.
