Mhairi Black has exposed the vile internet trolls who targeted her with shocking messages after her appearance at the rape clause protest in George Square.
Twitterverse rushed to the politician’s defence after one social media user said: “Shes got nothing to worry about. Nobody’s gonna wanna rape that.”
Another awful comment read: “She’s alright nobody will rape her.”
The SNP MP for Paisley and Renfrewshire South posted the tweets onto her own page, and told her followers: “These kind of tweets are exactly the reason why we woman [sic] still have a long, hard fight ahead of ourselves.”
Her almost 100,000 followers were outraged and hit back at the trolls for making the comments.
One said: “Sorry you have to deal with this s**t,” while another added: “I’m so sorry you need to read stuff like that. Keep up the great work and that idiot has been reported.”
Another one of her followers said: “Great speech Mhairi, that guy is an idiot so well done on calling him out. Suffice to say I know the position my MP has.”
Hundreds of protesters gathered in George Square on Thursday evening to demand the scrapping of the UK Government’s so-called rape clause, as they branded the policy “vile” and “despicable.”
Mhairi addressed the gathering, and told protesters: “This is a disgraceful, disgusting policy that will not happen on our watch.”

She also added that opponents of the clause are “rightly disgusted that any woman has to declare and relive probably the most horrific event in her life all for the sake of a few pounds.”
The new rule requires rape victims claiming tax credits for a third or subsequent child to prove they became pregnant as a result of an attack or while in a coercive relationship in order to qualify.

The policy has sparked a political row in Scotland, with First Minister Nicola Sturgeon describing it as “appalling.”
Scottish Tory leader Ruth Davidson has further added fuel to the fire by supporting the move.
She said she wants to see ministers “implement them in the most compassionate way possible.”
