Seven-year-old Cole Bruce has finally been reunited with his best friend, teddy bear Jude, after losing him on a family holiday.

The schoolboy from Newton Mearns was left devestated after misplacing his teddy on a family trip to Arran.

The pair have been inseperable since the toy was gifted to Cole when he was only a few weeks old.

Jude was last seen on the ferry to the island, before the family arrived at the Auchrannie resort.

Darren Bruce, Cole's dad, said: "I was out in the pitch dark with my head torch on looking for it.

"By the time I got back to the room, my wife and Cole were both in tears.

"I think she was more upset about the bear being missing than she would be if it was me!

“There was a lot of tears the rest of the weekend."

After returning home and searching the internet to find a replacement, Cole's parents decided to launch a missing person's campaign on Facebook.

The post was shared over 3000 times from people around the country, including from the captain of the Arran ferry.

Finally, an employee at the resort got in touch to say she had found the bear and prepared him for his trip back home.

Jude finally arrived back in Glasgow on Wednesday after an extra long holiday.

Richard Small, Auchrannie’s General Manager: “As soon as we were notified that Jude was missing, the entire team went into overdrive to help locate him.

"No corner of Auchrannie was left unturned in our quest to track him down and it was with great relief that we finally found his hide-out on Monday afternoon."
