THE mystery of a car that ploughed in to bushes in Cumnock has yet to be solved.

It could have been Cumnock’s own grassy knoll conspiracy after the red Renault Clio was spotted wedged in trees, on top of a small fence, up an embankment in the town centre. Unbelievably there were no tyre marks on the grass and the car had not ploughed through the fence.

There was mystery over how the car managed to get there and its still unclear what actually sent the motor to career off the road and in to the vegetation. With no evidence that the car had skidded off the road or crashed it looked as though the motor had dropped out of the sky on to the fence.

The snap was taken at the junction of Barrhill Road and Lugar Street.

The incident happened at around 7pm on Monday July 13.

The driver was a 45 year old woman who was not hurt in the scare and there was minimal damage to the motor.

The car came to a halt, straddled across the small fence, just inches from brick wall.

The car was moved without the help of Scottish Fire and Rescue.

No charges were pressed.
