One of the most notable successes was achieved by the school choir, which won the formidable-looking Sanquhar/Glendyne Shield for the first time in many years after being crowned best choir at the recent Dumfries and District Music Festival, which produced several other winners from Sanquhar Primary.
As well as musical winners in abundance the schools cross country team produced the winners of a regional competition Ian Torrance and Lois Geddes — P7 pupil Lois also lifted the Nithsdale and Regional Badminton Championship for her age group.
