It was presented for the continued commitment to providing membership exams for the Royal College of Physicians, which is internationally recognised as a benchmark for assessing a doctor’s clinical skill.
Dr Sandip Ghosh, Consultant Physician has been organising the practical part of the membership exam for the Glasgow College for ten years and Professor Andrew Collier has been arranging the exam for the Edinburgh College for the past five years.
Prof Collier said: “The membership of the Royal College of Physicians is regarded as a high quality examination throughout the world.
"The exam is very important in improving inpatient care across the UK and further afield.
"Only by passing this exam can junior doctors progress and specialise in hospital medicine.”
