ONE Dalmellington group recently scooped a top award for their work with the elderly.
The Zone Initiative 'Home Buddies’ project recently won the prestigious Older People’s Project of the Year award sponsored and judged by Glasgow Caledonian University.
The honour was announced at a cermeony for the Herald Society Awards for services to Older People.
The 'Home Buddies’ project provides a tailored service to assist older people, disabled and vulnerable adults in their homes for as long as possible.
Project Manager Elaine Stewart said: “On the night staff and three elderly people, as well as the chairperson, manager and deputy manager were all delighted when it was announced we were the winners.” The pictures show the locals enjoying themselves at the dinner. Pictures supplied
