THE Auchinleck Mining Heritage Monument is to be unveiled on Thursday November 13 in Auchinleck.
Councillor Neil McGhee has arranged the event and the monument will be officially opened by Nicky Wilson, NUM President.
The monument will be situated on Mauchline Road, Auchinleck, just along from the Templeton Roundabout, and the proceedings will begin at 6pm.
All ex-miners from Auchinleck are invited to attend the opening as well as a Buffet and Refreshments at The Railway Hotel, Main Street, Auchinleck from 6.40pm.
