ONE of Cumnock’s favourite daughters returned to help on the campaign trail as Yes Cumnock held an independence meeting last week.
The meeting, held at Netherthird Community Centre, was specifically aimed at female voters in an attempt to persuade them to vote yes.
On hand was Deacon Blue singer and pro independence campaigner Lorraine McIntosh.
Lorraine was joined by band mate Ricky Ross, Joan McAlpine MSP Margaret Young of Women for Independence.
The meeting was chaired by Gary Parker who took questions from the audience to put the panel.
Key topics of the meeting included currency and the NHS.
Jessie Owens said: “It was a really good meeting with a good turnout.
“Lorraine spoke from her heart about why she favours independence and she, along with the panel, attempted to answer questions.”
