NEIL Findlay MSP, Shadow Health Secretary, and Ian Lavery MP, former President of the National Union of Mineworkers were guest speakers at a special Labour Referendum meeting.
Organised by Cathy Jamieson, the meeting in Auchinleck’s Boswell Centre allowed locals to put questions and points across to a panel of key Labour figures.
Labour’s candidate in Carrick, Cumnock and Doon Valley for the Scottish Parliamentary Elections in 2016, Carol Mochan completed the line-up.
Cathy said: “With the Referendum now only a few weeks away, the arguments are being put forward in the media, in meetings, on the street and the doorsteps. Last week I followed up the meeting I hosted in Kilmarnock, with another in Auchinleck.
“As well as political issues, practical issues about the referendum are being raised with me.”
