LOCAL MP Sandra Osborne has issued a call for constituents and local organisations to take part in a consultation on how current laws protect people from unfair treatment due to their religious beliefs.
Sandra who chairs the influential All Party Group on Equality in the Westminster Parliament revealed that the consultation is being conducted by the Equality and Human Rights Commission.
The Labour MP said: “Further details of how to take part in this consultation can be obtained from the website www.equalityhumanrights.com/religion . I would very much encourage interested individuals and groups within my constituency to participate in this consultation. The evidence gathered will reveal how effectively current legislation protects people from discrimination based on their religious beliefs."
