CATRINE Amateur Football Club has been given a grant of £3,500 by SportScotland.

The club will form an amateur football club, open to all, manage the local playing field and pavilion and purchase kit and equipment to help get them started. The playing field will be used for training and football matches.

Cumnock Juniors Community enterprise has also received a grant from the organisation.

They’ve been given £3,850 to develop the “Things-Tae-Dae” social hub for weekly participation in football activities for local children and young people aged 8-24 with learning and physical disabilities.

East Ayrshire Council Department of Education and Social Services have been given £1,972 by the Big Lottery Fund to host events as part of their learning disability awareness week.

Netherthird Community Action Training has been given £2,084 by the Big Lottery Fund to teach young people in the community how to maintain a community garden.

East Ayrshire-based Robert Burns World Federation have £4,982 from the Big Lottery Fund to educate the public about the life, poetry and work of Robert Burns and will reach out to more Scottish children with a community education programme, digitalised archives, and development of existing school competitions.

The Addaction group, based in East Ayrshire, will run activities to promote the health and wellbeing of vulnerable adults with up to 50 service users expected to attend each activity. They’ve been given £8,075 by the lottery.

Labour MP Sandra Osborne is absolutely delighted that 8 groups in total from her constituency has recently been successful in gaining Awards For All Lottery Grant funding.
