Alzheimer Scotland is asking you to stride, strut, saunter and stravaig this year to raise money for people living with dementia in Scotland. Memory Walk 2014 is the perfect opportunity to make every step count to show your support for the 88,000 people with dementia, their carers, partners and families.

Our first ever Ayrshire Memory Walk will take place at Dean Castle Country Park in Kilmarnock on World Alzheimer Day - 21st September 2014, from 1pm. There will be the option of a three km or five km walk along accessible paths and we welcome anyone and everyone to join us with guidance available along the way.

Enjoy an event for all the family while raising much-needed funds for dementia. As well as face painting and entertainment on the day, the family can enjoy the park’s adventure playground, urban farm, visitor centre, tearoom or a tour of the fantastic 14th century castle.

Emma Jackson from Alzheimer Scotland said; “It will be a great day out for all the family and for people in Ayrshire to show their support for friends, colleagues and families affected by dementia” Registration is £5 (free for under 16s) and participants are asked to raise £50 in sponsorship. An exclusive Memory Walk t-shirt is also available for just £5. Visit www.MemoryWalksScotland.org to find out more and to register your place.
