DEDICATED charity fundraiser Lorna Dempsey is to carry the Commonwealth Baton this summer.
Lorna, from Dalmellington was put forward by pals for her work with Butterfly Events and Cancer Research.
Lucky Lorna said: “It’s a great honour, I’m really chuffed.
“It’s massive for me because it’s recognition. It’s lovely just to be nominated. Obviously I don’t do it for the recognition but it’s still an honour.” “It’s also a massive deal for the charity, not just myself. It puts our name out there.” The Commonwealth Baton arrives in East Ayrshire on June 21.
