THE Open Studio Ayrshire (OSA) weekend is set to welcome a local artist to have a second go at opening her studio to the public.

Last year Julie H Winter’s studio was snowed in during the very first OSA event. The group of Ayrshire wide artists decided to hold the event later this year in the hope that the weather would be kinder.

Julie was asked if she wanted to host her work in Ayr as some of the other artists have chosen to do but she decided to give the public another shot at supporting her gallery of work. Julie is hopeful that the event will help put New Cumnock on the map of the art trail.

Julie’s studio space (No.6) is right in the heart of Glenafton and is well worth a visit and as she gets set to welcome the public to view her work in her studio at Afton Water Gallery, The Doctor’s House, Afton Road, For each person attending her studio gallery there will be a free entry into a prize draw. On show are many examples of Julie’s work including original local landscapes, silk painted scarves and a selection of original hand painted watercolour cards, some of flowers and other miniature local landscapes. To see examples of Julie’s work go to www.juliewinter.wordpress.com.

Julie has developed her skills to include portraiture too and you can have the opportunity to have the family immortalised in charcoal.

Other places to see Julie H Winter’s artwork: Six brand new paintings at The Maclaurin Art Gallery in Ayr at Rozelle Park, a few of her Chasing Sunset images at both The Wellington Gallery in Kilmarnock and The Gallery Troon and just over the border into Dumfries at A’ the Airts, you can find a wide range of examples showing Julie’s innate creativity.

Julie offers tuition and painting holidays from her premises: enquiries at www.aftonwaterview.wordpress.com.
