A MAUCHLINE mum of five has soared for the skies in more ways than one.

Carolyn Frew, 40, has taken the unusual career path from an aeronautical engineer to a full time mother to now successful business woman.

Carolyn, pictured right, launched Prams with Pizazz little over a year ago and has been juggling the role of business woman and mum ever since.

Carolyn said: “It has gone from one extreme to the other – from planes to prams. But I love doing this”.

Carolyn was delighted to begin the new year as a part of Sir Tom Hunter’s Entrepreneurial Spark business accelerator programme.

Speaking to the Chronicle Carolyn explained the idea behind Prams with Pizazz.

She said: “When my youngest daughter, Elise, was three years old she was adamant that she wanted a 'Lady Bird’ pram, after trawling the net for days I just couldn’t find a high quality pram that would last through generations for Elise to pass on.” She continued: “Many of our customers have always dreamed of pushing their own child in an iconic pram since they were young. However for many the cost of a brand new Coach Built pram is just too much.

“I have been so lucky to receive such amazing support so far from my family and friends who initially encouraged me to take the leap of faith and pursue Prams with Pizazz, also since joining Entrepreneurial Spark my confidence has soared as well and I really appreciate all the invaluable support the team have given me”.
