AN ABANDONED caravan exploded in a field near New Cumnock after on-board gas canisters caught fire.
The motorhome was parked in a field near Knowetop Farm when it ignited - and was was spotted by passing police.
Nobody was hurt in the incident and no one has come forward to claim the gutted caravan - but Chronicle reader Maragaret Craig was on hand to snap this dramatic picture of the blaze.
