The 218th anniversary of the death of James Boswell fell on the same weekend as the Boswell Book Festival and to mark the day, a small ceremony was held at the Boswell Mausoleum in Auchinleck Churchyard.
Provost Jim Todd laid a wreath and led the readings which were also delivered by Dr Gordon Turnbull of Yale University, family representative Margaret Boswell Elliot and James Knox, Chairman of the Boswell Trust.
