Local MP Cathy Jamieson joined forces with the global campaign group TigerTime at an event in Parliament recently to draw attention to the plight of tigers living in the wild around the world.

With only 3,200 wild tigers left, the campaign is calling for an end to the trade in all tiger parts as well as an end to the practices and policies that stimulate demand for tiger parts and produce.

Cathy said: "It's our responsibility to ensure the survival of these magnificent cats and we should be ashamed that their numbers have fallen so low.

"I would encourage people in Kilmarnock and Loudoun to sign TigerTime's BanTigerTrade petition to send the message once and for all that the tiger trade should be banned around the world.
