Dumfriesshire, Clydesdale and Tweeddale MP David Mundell has one of the largest constituencies in the UK, stretching from Lanark to Gretna and Dumfries to Peebles.

And this month the far travelled MP starts a marathon surgery tour of his large rural constituency.

His Spring Surgery Tour in Dumfriesshire kicks off on April 10.

"This is a now annual event which allows me to get round all parts of my large constituency and meet as many constituents as possible," explained the MP.

It starts on April 10 with a surgery in Boreland Village Hall, followed by Bentpath Village Hall. Langholm Community Centre is next before he moves onto Harelaw - at the car park - and then Bowholm Hall, Canonbie , Glenzier Public Hall, Evertown; Eaglesfield Village Hall; Middlebie Community Centre and finishing the day at Ecclefechan Day Centre.

The following day, April 11, will be an equally busy one, with surgeries organised in Wanlockhead Village Hall; Sanquhar Community Centre; Kirkconnel Miners Welfare; Keir Village Hall; Thornhill Community Centre and Penpont Village Hall.

The tour continues on April 12 with surgeries in the village halls at Brydekirk, Cummertrees and Dalton, before moving on to the Gillespie Memorial Hall in Mousewald; Hutton Hall Community Centre, Bankend; the community centres at Kingholm Quay and Noblehill, before finishing in Tinwald at the Parish Hall, Amisfield.

The Dumfriesshire tour continues on April 13, with surgeries being held in Beattock Village Hall, and then at Munro House, Moffat, before moving on to Templand Village Hall; the Victoria Hall, Kirkpatrick Fleming; the Richard Greenhow Centre, Gretna, and finally concluding at Eastriggs Social Club.

"These surgeries are over and above my regular advertised ones, and offer those living in the more rural areas of the constituency a chance to meet me and raise any concerns they may have," said Mr Mundell.
