New Cumnock gala day this weekend
GLEBE PARK is the place to be in New Cumnock this weekend as it plays host to the village's annual gala day.
The fun day will be on Saturday, August 4 from 12pm-4pm, in the park behind the activity centre,
There will be a bouncy castle, fun rides, various stalls, facepainting, and much more.
New Cumnock scouts will also be running a stall selling tea and burgers to visitors in need of refreshment.
As well as the usual gala day fun, there will be a river walk and mini beast hunt organised by the East Ayrshire Coalfield Environment Initiative.
Each child who attends will also get a goodie bag.
Two winfarm developers who are hoping to build on land around the area are also going to be running stalls to get views from locals about a potential community benefit fund worth up to £40,000 a year.
RWE npower renewables are the company offering the cash and they will be looking to hear what the money could be spent on if their plan to build a windfarm at Ashmark Hill is successful.
Vattenfall, who are hoping to build a windfarm at South Kyle will also be running a stall.
