AN AUCHINLECK RAF hero has finished a distinguished 22-year service - in which he saw action in Iraq and the Falkland Islands among others.

Steven McClue first joined the Air Force in December 1990 after training at RAF Swinderby.

He started as meant to go on by winning the National Westminster Shield - awarded to the best overall RAF recruit of that years intake.
