AN MSP has unveiled his plan to save the steeple of a New Cumnock church earmarked for demolition - by moving it to Prestwick.

South of Scotland MSP Chic Brodie has revealed the ambitious plan to save the iconic symbol as plans to develop the Arthur Memorial Church into a housing scheme press ahead.

The church is the only one in New Cumnock which has a steeple and is set to celebrate it's 100th year - though it has fallen into disrepair after losing it's congregation almost 30 years ago.
