SORN residents want action to make sure that last week's flooding is not repeated.

A community leader has called for a culvert, which was blocked and caused serious floods in the village, to be replaced with a bigger pipe.

However, they are also glad that the water has not managed to cause any damage to houses in business, after the flood water ended up just short of buildings on Sorn's Main Street.

The village was flooded after a freak localised cloudburst in the hills above the village on Thursday, July 5 saw two small burns swell quickly - with water breaking out at both ends of Sorn, cutting the village off.
