Back to the drawing board for depot shopping plan

A PLAN to turn Cumnock's Ayr Road bus depot into a new shopping development has been sent back to the drawing board by East Ayrshire Council.

The idea, which is proving controversial before the plans are even fully revealed, was found to be invalid on technical grounds by EAC planning chiefs.

Cumnock Community Council have already spoken out against the idea - saying that any retail on Ayr Road could "kill Cumnock Town Centre stone dead".
