Planning shake-up for East Ayrshire

EAST Ayrshire Council have scrapped the committee dealing with planning applications in Cumnock and Doon Valley over fears councillors could have a "conflict of interest" when dealing with opencast developments.
A full council meeting last week voted in measures that will see the establishment of a single planning committee for the entire local authority area.
