WE NEED to establish what the community want.
That's the target of a new steering group set up to help examine how New Cumnock could benefit from community payments from proposed wind farms developers.
The group of six, made up of representatives from New Cumnock Community Council, New Cumnock Liaison Group and elected members, are attempting to gather a general consensus from the village.
They have watched as their counterparts from Dalmellington Community Council have vowed never to bow to pressure from wind farm developers.
But in New Cumnock opinion is divided.
