Rabbit found in train station
The Scottish SPCA is appealing for information after a pet rabbit was
found hopping around Kilmarnock train station on Tuesday (14 February).
A female rail passenger spotted the black male rabbit on the platform
and picked him up before handing him in to the local police station.
Scotland's animal welfare charity is now caring for the adventurous
bunny at its Ayrshire and South West Scotland Animal Rescue and Rehoming
Centre at Mainholm in Ayr, where staff have called him Jeremy.
Assistant Manager Lynda Hourston said, "We don't know whether Jeremy has
been abandoned or whether he has escaped.
"Either way it was very lucky Jeremy was found as he could have come to
some serious harm hopping around a busy train station.
"He's a really friendly little guy despite what must have been a pretty
scary ordeal.
"We'd love to reunite him with his owner if he is lost, but if he's been
dumped then we will care for him until we can find him a loving new
home."
Anyone who recognises Jeremy or wishes to rehome him can call the
Scottish SPCA Animal Helpline on 03000 999 999.
