Youth Theatre Succes
East Ayrshire Youth Theatre has been working round the clock to prepare two fantastic new shows this year. They have just presented Beauty and the Beast to an appreciative audience at the Palace Theatre and are putting the final touches to a special adaptation of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe written for the youth theatre.
Councillor Maureen McKay (pictured here with the Cumnock cast) attended the Saturday performance of Beauty and The Beast and along with the rest of the audience was delighted with the adaptation of the Disney classic. Kilmarnock 8-11 year olds and Cumnock 8-16 year olds presented the tale of a prince trapped in a spell by an evil enchantress, doomed to remain a beast for all time, unless the Beast can learn to truly love and be loved in return.
There are still tickets available for The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe on Thursday 16th & Friday 17th February at 7.30pm, performed by the Kilmarnock 12-16 year old group, which is sure to be every bit as entertaining. Join Lucy, Edmund, Susan and Petra (who replaces Peter in this special adaptation) as they venture in to the magical world of Narnia and join Aslan to fight the evil witch and free the creatures of Narnia from perpetual winter.
A post show discussion will take place after the show.
Tickets are available from box office on 01563 554900.
