THE saga over East Ayrshire Council's handling of disqualified councillor Drew Filson continued this week.

The Labour group on EAC have vowed to keep up their fight for answers after their motion for a 'vote of no confidence' against the SNP-led administration was voted down at a crunch meeting.

Leader Maureen McKay said "The questions we raised remain unanswered and we will continue to pursue this matter through any and all channels available to us. We were surprised that the Conservative councillors gave their full support to the SNP's actions which treated the electorate of East Ayrshire, and particularly the Doon Valley, with contempt."

But Council leader Douglas Reid denied the claims and said: "We're pleased with the outcome of the vote. Labour should be ashamed of themselves, as it was just wrong to play politics with a man's personal plight."
