CHARITY BASH: Francis has helped organise the event in memory of his late grandmother

A BIG-HEARTED musician is to honour the memory of his late grandmother by helping stage a charity night in Dalmellington.

Susan Gormanley lost her short battle with cancer last month and her family are now planning an event to help raise funds for a cause close to her heart.

Just weeks before her death she received a heart-warming letter and small donation from the Uel MacArthur Fund.

The charity is now set to benefit from a fund-raising event being organised by grandson Francis Gormanley, 29, on Friday, March 23 in Dalmellington Community Centre.

Francis and his family will split the proceeds 50/50 with another charity close to their hearts, the Yorkhill Children's Foundation.
