THE committee fighting to save New Cumnock's outdoor pool have issued a desperate plea to the local community for help.

And they say with YOUR support they can not only restore swimming in the town but make the facility one to be proud of.

Elaine Hodge is leading the group called New Cumnock Outdoor Community Swimming Pool and is confident they can win their battle after a feasibility study showed that saving the pool is not a lost cause.

But due to time constraints, funding is not in place and they will need as many people as possible to get on board to make their impressive attempts happen.

She said: "We haven't elected the directors yet but we will take this forward after the feasibility study was positive. We have come this far and we want to go the whole hog now.
