DEVASTATED: Many of little Brooke's toys were destroyed in the blaze

A LUGAR mum has spoken of her grief after fire ripped through her garage on Hogmanay.

Sonia Gibb, from Muirkirk Road, only discovered the blaze after hearing tins of paint in her garage exploding from the heat.

Fire chiefs believe the early-morning inferno, which also destroyed a garage and pick-up truck at the property next door, was started deliberately.

Sonia, 28, revealed the fire caused contents damage to the tune of around £2,500, not to mention the sentimental value.

She said: "It's been absolutely devastating.

"We had a trial motor bike as well as my daughter Brooke's wee quad bike which have both been destroyed. And to make matters worse the garage wasn't insured."
