Bleak outlook for Barr jobs

SCOTTISH Enterprise insist they will do all they can to support staff facing the axe at Barr's Industrial and Manufacturing HQ at Killoch, Ochiltree.

The business support organisation are working closely with the firm, who last month announced up to 40 jobs could be cut at Killoch.

A further 40 positions are expected to go at Barr's Solway Structural Steel division near Newton Stewart after they reported a significant drop in orders in recent months.
