Dalmellington plans set for lift off

PLANS to build a new observatory in Dalmellington look set for blast off after the group behind it confirmed they had finally reached their ambitious fundraising target.

The Scottish Dark Sky Observatory are ready to reach for the stars and venture forward with the construction of a public observatory which will bring the magic of the night to East Ayrshire.

They plan to build on rocky knowe in the hills above Loch Doon and bring the magic of the galaxy above us to life. The observatory will house powerful telescopes, projections and a visitor centre and will bring the wonder of the night sky to everyone.
