Farmer wins 'missing sheep' case

A PENSIONER was celebrating victory after the New Cumnock farmer who 'wrongfully removed' 30 of his sheep was ordered to pay him nearly £4000 in compensation.

Robert McCrone won a civil action in Ayr Sheriff Court last Friday when, after a day of evidence, Sherrif Desmond Leslie found Matthew Young guilty of 'wrongfully removing 30 of his sheep'.

He has been ordered to pay Mr McCrone £3720 along with expenses for taking his animals over two years ago.
